Timeless Teachings in a Changing World

I have a passion for learning and teaching science, technology, engineering, and math. I am a proud Hokie, member of Virginia Tech’s class of 2008; and Marymount University Alumni. I have a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education. In my younger years I was the student who loved participating in science projects, looked forward to math class, and loved to build anything! This inspired me to have an interest in studying Pre-med in college. While in college I worked at Blacksburg Child Development Center, where I gained years of experience with infants and younger children. Once I graduated I taught for 5 years in Arlington County Public Schools. While teaching I also launched P&E Babysitting, which is now a successful babysitting/nanny referral company.

Seeing children enjoy educational activities is what inspires me. Math and Science are two subjects that children lose interest in early in life. I believe that the best teachers are those who create unique lessons that are engaging, fun, and educational. At STEM Preschool it is all about the child’s experience. We want to ensure your child enjoys learning to maintain a future interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

I look forward to providing your family with the best quality childcare. I always welcome questions and comments. Please feel free to contact me at any time!

DIRECTOR
SABREEA PETTY

Hello all!

I am Sabreea Petty, better known as Ms.Bre to many. I was born and raised in Washington, DC not too far from where the Capitol Hill campus is located. I was raised by educators and grew up with a large family so caring for children is like second nature to me. As a child, I often went to work with my mom as she taught in a childcare center and would actively participate in caring for her students alongside her. At 14 years old when I reached the age where I could get a summer job, I requested to have placement at my former elementary school in the preschool classes. I worked as a youth teacher’s aide assisting in the teaching of basic subjects. Fast forward to many years later I continued teaching, joined STEM as a 2 year old lead teacher, transitioned to 3-4’s lead teacher & assistant director. Now, I am proud to say I am the Director of STEM Preschool Capitol Hill and couldn’t be more ecstatic to work with your little ones.
