Timeless Teachings in a Changing World
I have a passion for learning and teaching science, technology, engineering, and math. I am a proud Hokie, member of Virginia Tech’s class of 2008; and Marymount University Alumni. I have a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education. In my younger years I was the student who loved participating in science projects, looked forward to math class, and loved to build anything! This inspired me to have an interest in studying Pre-med in college. While in college I worked at Blacksburg Child Development Center, where I gained years of experience with infants and younger children. Once I graduated I taught for 5 years in Arlington County Public Schools. While teaching I also launched P&E Babysitting, which is now a successful babysitting/nanny referral company.
Seeing children enjoy educational activities is what inspires me. Math and Science are two subjects that children lose interest in early in life. I believe that the best teachers are those who create unique lessons that are engaging, fun, and educational. At STEM Preschool it is all about the child’s experience. We want to ensure your child enjoys learning to maintain a future interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
I look forward to providing your family with the best quality childcare. I always welcome questions and comments. Please feel free to contact me at any time!
Working and helping children further their education has always been a passion of mine. I received my bachelor’s degree and director qualifications from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with children of all ages and different backgrounds.
I have years of experience successfully working with children: from teaching in public schools, after school programs, private tutoring, and coaching. I have had the privilege of being a part of the STEM Preschool family since 2015. After spending three years teaching the Pre-K class at our Arlington location, I am excited to expand my role at STEM Preschool Capitol Hill, as a Director.
Together, with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am
committed to providing your family with a loving and nurturing foundation for a lifetime of learning. At STEM Preschool, we know that play is a child's most important work, and we will strive to create and maintain an environment where your child can grow and thrive while exploring the world around them. I look forward to getting to know our entire new STEM
preschoolers and families. Our Team at STEM Preschool will strive every day to provide a lasting education for each child that
comes through our school.
