Timeless Teachings in a Changing World
I have a passion for learning and teaching science, technology, engineering, and math. I am a proud Hokie, member of Virginia Tech’s class of 2008; and Marymount University Alumni. I have a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education. In my younger years I was the student who loved participating in science projects, looked forward to math class, and loved to build anything! This inspired me to have an interest in studying Pre-med in college. While in college I worked at Blacksburg Child Development Center, where I gained years of experience with infants and younger children. Once I graduated I taught for 5 years in Arlington County Public Schools. While teaching I also launched P&E Babysitting, which is now a successful babysitting/nanny referral company.
Seeing children enjoy educational activities is what inspires me. Math and Science are two subjects that children lose interest in early in life. I believe that the best teachers are those who create unique lessons that are engaging, fun, and educational. At STEM Preschool it is all about the child’s experience. We want to ensure your child enjoys learning to maintain a future interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.
I look forward to providing your family with the best quality childcare. I always welcome questions and comments. Please feel free to contact me at any time!
I am extremely excited to be the new Director at STEM for the 2019-2020 school year! I have been teaching at STEM for the past 3 years, both as the 1-2 year old teacher and the 2-3 year old teacher. I have such a passion for children and watching them grow and flourish into their new potential and I am thrilled to be able to influence this growth, from the other side.
I was born in Washington D.C. and was raised in Northern Virginia. I am a proud Monarch, graduating from Old Dominion University in 2013, where I received a Bachelor's degree in
Psychology and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. I later attended Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida, where I received a Juris Doctor, in 2016. I previously have worked at Old Dominion University's Child Development Center as a Lead Assistant, as well as, provided individual assistance to the students at that center.
