My name is Kristie Royal (Ms. Kristie) and I am the kindergarten/advanced Pre-K teacher  STEM Preschool. I grew up in a small town in Indiana and moved to the Washington DC area in 1990 to be a live-in Nanny. The family had one child when I began and by the time I stopped working for them, they had four children and I sent the last one off to college in 2015! During that time I completed my bachelor’s in English at UMUC and my master’s in Early Childhood Education at Grand Canyon University. I worked for three years as a lead Pre-k teacher in Bethesda Md and one year at BASIS Independent McLean as an Early Learning Teaching Fellow and Director of their Aftercare program for three year olds, four year olds and kindergarten children. I enjoy reading suspense novels and spending time at the beach with friends. I am so excited to get started on this new academic year.
